Every year you can find our family participating in walks and runs to support organizations that help children, youth and adults living with disabilities. Here are some upcoming events I would like to share with you!
The Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides is a national fundraising walk held in approximately 300 communities across Canada. It raises funds to help train Dog Guides for Canadians with visual, hearing, medical or physical disabilities. Each Walk is organized by local volunteers with support from Lions Foundation of Canada. To date, the Walk has raised more than $15 million! Communities host Walks in the Spring and Fall. Visit the locations page to find the Walk closest to you. Join us in this event and feel free to bring your pooch!

On Sunday, June 3rd our family will be joining Bella's teacher, Ms. Seckington and the Community Class in the annual Autism Speak Canada Walk at Nathan Phillips Square. Ms. Seckington has a brother with autism. She continues to shine light in the field of special education at the school and regional level. Ms. Seckington shares, "I never made the decision to become a Special Education teacher because I want to make school a better place for kids like my brother; I made the decision because I realized that Special Ed was my norm." You can check out her blog here.
